FAQs
Does it hurt?
Pain level is relative from person to person, so the same piercing can feel entirely different on you than on someone else. However, this shouldn’t stop you! What’s so great about piercing is that that feeling only lasts a moment. If you are feeling particularly nervous, make sure you get a good night’s sleep the day before and eat balanced meals throughout the day, prior to your appointment.
Can I bring my own jewelry to get pierced?
To ensure that you do not experience any reactions or complications during your healing process due to the quality of the jewelry you were pierced with, unfortunately we can not pierce you with outside jewelry. It’s impossible for us to properly attest what the jewelry you brought in is made of. You can, however, bring in jewelry that you have previously purchased in our studio to get pierced with! If size and style allow it, we can re-use a piece of jewelry that you have gotten from us for a new piercing, following proper resterilization.
How much does a piercing cost?
Our service fee is 25$ per piercing, for any piercing! We have a very large selection of jewelry, varying from Titanium to Solid Gold, for all aesthetics and budgets! Our implant-grade Titanium basics start at 50$ a piece, and all our basic Solid 14kt-18kt Gold options start at 90$ per piece of jewelry!
Can I be allergic to your jewelry?
We work really hard to bring you only the highest and safest quality, whether that is for jewelry or even equipment. We pride ourselves in carrying strictly hypoallergenic and biocompatible materials. Our implant grade Titanium (Ti6Al4V ELI) is ASTM-F136 compliant which is meant to safely stay in the body (for example: The same grade of titanium is used in bone replacement and orthodontics). Our gold jewelry is made out of solid 14 karat or higher yellow, rose or white gold that is nickel and cadmium free. What all this means: We only carry the safest materials for healing and long-term wear, so jewelry quality and allergic reactions are not something you should worry about!
What about infections?
Infections can occur, like with any type of wound! It is however fairly rare with the standards we maintain in the studio as well as with our aftercare standards. What is often mistaken as an infection is simply irritation, which can happen for a multitude of reasons but can be easily assessed with an in person or online consultation. If you have any questions or worries regarding your piercing, please communicate with us! We are always here to help!
Piercing guns VS piercing needles?
There are a multitude of reasons why a piercing gun is not a safe piercing instrument. One of the main reasons is that a piercing gun can not be properly sterilized, and is also reusable. Which means that it allows for disease transmission from client to client. A piercing gun will use blunt force to puncture your skin with the jewelry itself, which can result in permanent damage. Jewelry used is generally of low quality and improper sterilization, which can lead to various healing issues. A single-use piercing needle has been carefully crafted to serve this one exact purpose: A safe piercing! It is a gentle and efficient way of getting a piercing, while also being the safest way to do so. Our staff is certified with Bloodborne Pathogens and infection prevention training and will help with any questions or concerns you may have on the matter.
